Project + Studio Coordinator
Part-time / Contract
The Project + Studio Coordinator role is an in-office role in Columbus, Ohio that supports the smooth day-to-day operation of the studio by managing documentation, scheduling, and administrative coordination across active projects. This is a client-facing, execution-focused role that requires strong written communication, organization, discretion, and follow-through. This is not a design role.
Reporting to the Director of Operations + Procurement, the Coordinator works closely with the Principal/Creative Director, design team, vendors, and clients. The role averages 15–20 hours per week to start and includes standing client and internal meetings with mandatory attendance. The primary purpose of the role is to reduce friction for the design team so they can remain focused on design, decisions, and client work.
DUTIES
Attend client meetings and internal team charrettes
Take and distribute meeting notes with action items within 24 hours
Draft post-meeting client follow-ups for review
Track action items and follow up on deadlines
Maintain digital and physical project binders and shared drives
Manage document versioning and file organization
Coordinate scheduling for meetings, site visits, and milestones
Prepare meeting, site, and install packets as needed
Support studio operations (supplies, printing, shipping/receiving)
Manage vendor samples and maintain the sample library
Support studio systems, templates, and trackers
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
1–3 years in an administrative, coordination, or operations role
Experience in a design-related studio or creative environment is a plus
Strong written communication and attention to detail
Highly organized; able to manage multiple priorities
Comfortable with calendars, shared drives, and documentation systems
Professional, reliable, and confident in client-facing communication
This is a contract position with competitive pay, with the potential to grow into a full-time role as the studio grows. A formal 90-day review will assess alignment, effectiveness, and capacity.

Junior Interior Designer
Full-time
Studio Black Ink is looking for a full-time Junior Interior Designer with interested in high-end residential and hospitality projects to join our team. The ideal candidate is a creative, self-motivated, technically savvy and meticulous individual who is also able to succeed in a collaborative learning environment. A team player who has the company's best interests in mind is a high priority. This is an in-person role located at our studio in Columbus, Ohio. Competitive compensation based on experience.
DUTIES
This person should be able to collaborate seamlessly with colleagues, clients, architects, contractors, fabricators and artisans on multiple projects that are in varying phases of design.
Responsible for technical drawings, project file organization, client follow ups, meeting preparation, material and furniture sourcing + specification, custom furniture design and visual research in addition to being mindful of budgets and project timelines.
Maintain Studio library organization
Creating project documentation including drawing sets, schedules, and construction administration duties in tandem with the Associate Interior Designer and Creative Director
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience and interest in hospitality and/or residential interiors and a bachelor’s degree from an accredited design school.
Passion for design and a keen eye for detail.
High proficiency in CAD [the company uses ArchiCAD], Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and SketchUp. We are a Mac-based office. Rendering skills is a huge plus.
Ability to manage multiple tasks with clarity, organization and follow-through
NCIDQ accreditation interest a plus.
Excellent communication + interpersonal skills and a willingness to adapt to the daily needs of the design team.
